STORE AND FORWARD ROUTING

In store and forward routing packets are the basis  unit of information transmission.Each node uses a packet buffer.

The packet is transmitted from a source node to a destination node through a sequence of intermediate nodes.

The latency is directly proportional to the distance between the source and the destination.

The communication latency TSF for a store and forward routing is given by

                                              Tsf= (L/W)*(D+1)

                                    L i the packet  length

                                    W is the channel bandwidth

                                     D is distance
